There are very stringent requirements now for workplace consultation and workers and/or their HSRs MUST be consulted on issues that affect their health and safety.
The best way to get guidance on workplace consultation can be found in the Work Health and Safety Consultation, Co-operation and Co-ordination Code of Practice (COP) – WorkSafe Tasmania. This COP describes what real consultation and involvements is and what the law requires.
