What Is A Union?
Unions are bodies that help workers organise to act for their conditions, conditions such as:
• Wage increases
• Safer workplaces
• Greater equality for women
• Improvements in hours
• Entitlement to paid holidays
• Entitlement to better working conditions.
They also involve themselves in the community, assisting with things such as:
• Australia 's post-war development and immigration program
• The social security system
• Medicare
• Education
