Unions Tasmania offers OHS training for Tasmanian Workplace Safety Representatives and other workers.
General occupational health and safety courses are delivered on a regular basis, specific industry courses are offered on request.
The Introductory (Stage 1) four day course is for newly elected Employee Safety Representatives:

The ESR Refresher (Stage 2) two day course is for re-elected elected Employee Safety Representatives and builds on the skills gained from prior training and practical workplace experiences:
Topics covered in this course include:
- Identification of hazards/current workplace practices, experiences and knowledge
- Revision of health & safety at work including safety performance locall, nationally and internationally
- Review of OHS legislation
- Role and function of the ESR/OHS committees and
- Developing an action plan for implementation into the workplace
